On October 21st, Czech Center in Belgrade was host to an event that represents the end of the AMO project Enhancing the capacities of Serbian independent media in informing about the green transition challenges, which was implemented in Serbia this year through training and grants for journalistic research on the topic of the green transition. Sixteen journalists from Serbia were involved in the project, who published articles on various aspects of this process in the local media.
The goal of the event was, in addition to the presentation of their work, to open a broader discussion about the challenges and opportunities that the green transition brings to Serbia, as well as networking journalists and experts from different fields.
Programme director of RES Foundation, Aleksandar Macura, was the moderator of the event’s first panel, “System failures and inspirations from the community”, which was dedicated to the presentation of the works of journalists participating in the project, offering different insights into Serbia’s path towards cleaner energy and sustainable development within the green transition framework. The conversation shed light on both systemic shortcomings and inspiring innovative approaches, emphasizing obstacles, but also space for individual action.
