On 16-17 June 2025 MEF-WB Energy Forum 2025 will be held in DoubleTree by Hilton, Skopje, North Macedonia. For eight consecutive years, MEF-WB Energy Forum is the premier gathering set to supercharge the Western Balkans’ journey toward a clean energy revolution. MEF-WB 2025 presents a dynamic platform where bold ideas meet real-world action, syncing regional ambitions with the global push for sustainability—just in time for the game-changing insights expected from COP30 in Brazil.
At the current energy landscape, the stakes are high, and the challenges are real. With a shifting geopolitical landscape and a fast-evolving energy sector, the Western Balkans yet again navigates between energy transition and energy security. That is why MEF-WB 2025 creates a platform where the brightest minds converse on how to turn obstacles into opportunities. Top-tier policymakers, visionary industry representatives, cutting-edge tech innovators, and passionate civil society leaders all strive jointly sparking solutions to steer us through uncertainty toward a net-zero future.
Our programme director, Aleksandar Macura, will be among prominent speakers of the Panel 7: Just Energy Transition in Turkey and the Western Balkans: Lessons and Opportunities (in partnership with Kalkinma Atolyesi). The panel shall focus on the challenges and opportunities in the energy transition within the Western Balkans and Turkey, particularly in ensuring a fair coal phase-out process. It will bring together key stakeholders to discuss how local communities, the workforce, and the energy sector can effectively adapt to the transition, while also addressing social justice, economic transformation, and environmental sustainability.
