As part of the Project “Improving the support to households to reduce air pollution” implemented by RES Foundation with the assistance of the Balkan Trust for Democracy, the second in a series of working meetings was held with representatives of local self-governments in Serbia implementing local measures to reduce air pollution from individual sources by replacing individual devices in households.

At the meeting, representatives of 6 local self-governments had a chance to exchange opinions and previous experiences regarding the implementation of the public call for the replacement of solid fuel devices. The importance of clear criteria and administrative procedures in selecting potential beneficiaries and monitoring the effects of these measures was emphasized. Timely and continuous informing of the public about the implemented measures was also recognized, in order to motivate citizens to participate in public calls and implement measures that contribute to improving energy efficiency and reducing air pollution.

The project “Improving the support to households to reduce air pollution” is being implemented with the financial assistance of the Balkan Trust for Democracy , the project of the German Marshall Fund of the United States and the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Belgrade
