On November 26, 2019, the Second Committee of the 74th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly adopted a resolution designating 7 September as the “International Day of Clean Air for blue skies.” This year, 7 September is observed under the theme #TogetherForCleanAir, stressing the need for collaboration with UN member states, development organizations, international and regional organizations, the private sector, and civil society as crucial to reducing pollution and improving air quality.

An event was organized in UN House in Belgrade that brought together UN agencies and partners to present on their work and results and together with relevant national and local government, non-government partners, research institutions, private sector, youth, and other stakeholders discuss the way forward in addressing air pollution from residential heating, but also other challenges, as relevant.

Co-founders and programme directors of RES Foundation, Jasminka Young and Aleksandar Macura, contributed as moderators for discussion on related topics, guiding the conversation towards meaningful and purposeful conclusions.
