The OECD Development Centre is supporting reforms in Serbia and the Western Balkans through analysis, policy advice and peer learning. The report “Energy Prices and Subsidies in Western Balkans: Reforms for a Fair and Green Future” puts forward five key recommendations for Serbia: open up the electricity market, reduce the fiscal burden of the energy sector, address energy poverty and protect vulnerable customers, strengthen implementation of the energy transition policies, and enable participation of businesses and households in the energy transition.

This report will be launched on Wednesday, June 18th, in Metropol Palace Hotel in Belgrade, and it will be followed by a panel discussion on economic and social dimensions of energy sector reform. The organizer has invited our programme director, Aleksandar Macura, to share his insights on the topic with other significant stakeholders in order to explore effective pathways for a green energy transition, integrating the economic and social perspectives.

Report will be available at OECD webiste.
