On 30 September 2026, RES Foundation published its new Communication on Engagement (CoE) to the United Nations Global Compact, covering the period from 30 September 2024 to 30 September 2026.
RES Foundation has participated in the UN Global Compact since 2016 and, through the new Communication on Engagement, renews its commitment to the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.
During the reporting period, RES Foundation continued to translate these principles into practical work focused on a just and citizen-centred energy transition, reduction of energy and transport poverty, climate resilience, environmental responsibility, biodiversity protection, public accountability, and the meaningful participation of young people, women and other under-represented groups in policy processes.
Among the results presented in the Communication are work with vulnerable households across 10 municipalities, energy counselling involving more than 100 women from rural communities, revision of the regional Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan covering nine local governments in the Zlatibor region, development of the Atlas of Good Energy 2026, support to Serbia’s biodiversity policy under cooperation with UNEP, and activities aimed at strengthening transparency and public understanding of major energy and infrastructure investments.
The Communication also highlights RES Foundation’s cooperation with the wider United Nations system, including UNEP, UNICEF and UN-Habitat, as well as continued engagement in UNFCCC processes.
Looking ahead, RES Foundation will continue to work on socially just energy and mobility transitions, local energy and climate planning, biodiversity safeguards, improved access to transparent energy data, strengthening the capacities of young professionals, local actors and media, and greater transparency and accountability in publicly and internationally financed energy investments.
The Communication on Engagement 2024-2026 reflects our commitment to combining evidence-based policy work with practical engagement, partnerships and transparent reporting – and to contributing to an energy and climate transition that leaves no one behind.
