The 9th International Energy and Investment Days, the largest event of its kind, was held on the 26th and 27th of February 2020 in Novi Sad. It was organised by the Novi Sad Fair with the support of the Provincial Secretariat for Energy, Construction and Transport, City of Novi Sad, and in partnership with the RES Foundation.

The two-day event was aimed at providing answers on how to take energy transition forward in Serbia. It brought together relevant experts in fields of energy, energy efficiency, finance, building construction industry and climate change. The event was opened by Đorđe Milićević, Vicepresident, Government of Vojvodina, Sem Fabrizi, EUD Ambassador, Francine Pickup UNDP Representative, Miloš Vučević, Mayor of Novi Sad and Slobodan Cvetković, Director General of Novi Sad Fair.

In addition to the exhibition part where companies, institutions and local self-governments presented their projects and technologies related to new trends in the energy sector, the congress segment through a number of focused panels offered cutting-edge discussions with the representatives from the Energy Community Secretariat, decision-makers, international organisations and the leading experts on the most important trends and challenges related to the energy transition in Serbia. The topics spanned from the strategic level to policy design, governance, financial models, and technological solutions including: Agenda 2030, SDGs, European Green Deal, Covenant of Mayors in the context of Serbia and the WB region; the new renewable energy policy in Serbia; small scale farm forestry, renewable energy sources in district heating; solar cities, e-mobility and electric vehicles; strategy for energy efficiency improvement in public buildings in Vojvodina and fuel switch in public buildings.
