Programme director of RES Foundation, Aleksandar Macura, participated in the 14th Conference on Electricity Distribution Networks of Serbia – CIRED, which was held on Kopaonik from September 16 to 20, 2024.
Our participation was fully focused on understanding the challenges that stand in the way of the solarization of Serbia in order to enable the maximum participation of citizens and associations in the production of electricity from rooftop solar power plants at the lowest voltage level in a way that does not endanger the operation of the distribution network. Such development requires the understanding of citizens, decision-makers, practitioners and academics in the field of power engineering. The rule of law and the professional and personal integrity of all involved help in such development.
CIRED is a leading international professional organization in the field of electricity distribution techniques, based in Brussels, Belgium, which has been operating for 45 years and gathers over 37 member countries from all over the world, including Serbia.
The purpose of CIRED is to work on increasing the business ability, skills and knowledge of those who participate in CIRED’s activities. Every second year, CIRED organizes a conference and exhibition where the latest achievements and best practices in technology and management of the technical side of electricity distribution are presented. Between conferences, CIRED organizes special working groups on current topics that are of key importance for the electricity distribution community.
